Key Features

  • A small, summer-green monocot herb. Plants 3-8 cm tall at flowering. Leaves linear and white solitary flower.

Distribution and Habitat

  • Eastern South Island and inland Hawkes Bay (although it has not been found here recently).
  • Ephemeral wetlands and depressions within tussock.

Threats

  • Habitat modification and loss.
  • Competition with invasive plants.

Management Opportunities

  • Survey for new locations.
  • Mark known sites.
  • Protection of habitat.
  • Weed control.

  • Check existing populations annually.
  • Report new locations to DOC, NZPCN.
